JACKS
Jacks are one of the most under rated gamefish found in our area. Hooking into a big Jack on light tackle results in an exciting, drag screaming tug of war! Pound for pound they are in my opinion the hardest pulling fish in our inshore and offshore waters. Most of these fish are caught while targeting other species, and can show up just about anywhere.   For the angler who's interested in the sport of catching exciting, hard fighting fish, Jacks are the ticket.  They range in size from 2 to 15 pounds inshore, with the larger 15 to 30 pound fish  found roaming our area beaches.  Jacks are also great Fly Rod targets when chummed into a frenzy! Though closely related to the pompano, they are not considered an edible species.
